Last year's graduates: You can pick up your yearbook in the high school office next week.

The Annual Report to the Public will be held September 18 at 5:30PM in the Superintendent's Office.

On September 21, our high school students will participate in a presentation from Jason Foundation in making a difference and helping us fight the “Silent Epidemic” of youth suicide. If you do not want your child participating in this presentation, please contact Mrs. Kandy Spurlin, kandy.spurlin@ouachitasd.org Below is a list of things you can do in your own community to make a difference. Educate yourself about the magnitude of the problem, the signs of concern, and the tools of prevention. You can educate yourself by visiting our B1 Project and take the pledge at b1.jasonfoundation.com. Encourage your friends to take the pledge and B1 too. Take the #IWONTBESILENT challenge and get your friends talking about the problem of youth suicide. Share iwontbesilent.com or wewontbesilent.com. Use #iwontbesilent or #wewontbesilent on all your social media accounts. Be there for a friend by being observant, asking questions, listening, responding, and getting help for your friend. Never keep a friend’s suicidal thoughts to yourself. Know who you can turn to for help and guidance such as a parent, teacher, coach, or a trusted adult to seek professional help. Encourage your school to hold a suicide prevention week. Educate others by liking The Jason Foundation on Facebook and Twitter. B1 is designed to be quick, informative, and target the most important aspects of youth suicide prevention. Participating in the B1 Pledge is a proactive step towards taking some of the silence out of the “Silent Epidemic.” B1 will help you to recognize signs of concern and develop a plan of action to help someone who may be struggling. After taking the pledge to “B1,” we hope that you’ll “Be Aware, Be Able and Be Prepared to React.” To take the pledge, visit b1.jasonfoundation.com.
