Important Things to Know About 3rd Grade

We know there is a lot going on in 3rd grade, and wanted to give you information that is all in one place.  You can refer to it when you have questions. We are very excited about this school year, and can’t wait to have fun learning together!

**Class Dojo-Please make sure you join Mrs. Parish and Mrs. Kratz class dojo. This is a great 2-way communication tool. This is how we will communicate with you ,and you may communicate with us. Please remember we are in class and may not see your dojo message immediately. If your child is riding home a different way please write a note or call the office.

**Warrior Binders will come home daily. The binder will have important information you will need throughout the year such as passwords and google classroom information.

**Conduct Cards- Students who earn 15 checks without a “W” (warning) on their conduct cards weekly receive a small reward on Thursdays. Checks may be earned by following classroom procedures, being on task, etc. On the other side of that-teacher signatures are not what we want to see on the conduct card.

** Snack:  We are eating lunch at 10:55, so we would love a healthy snack in the afternoon. We will be sending a snack calendar home, so you will know which day to send. We really appreciate your help with this.

**Graded Papers: Our goal is to send papers (class work and tests) home weekly. They will also have graded work  in google forms on the google classroom. You can login your childs google classroom to see these forms. You can access your child’s grades on HAC through our school website. ( If you are new to our district, or have misplaced your username and password for HAC, please contact the office.

**Homework: Your child may have homework periodically. This will come home in the Warrior Binder.

**Class Parties: We have 2 class parties at Christmas and Easter. We will send home information about these celebrations in advance. Even though we do not have a Valentine’s Day party, we will exchange Valentines with both classes :)

**Field Trip:  Our big 3rd grade trip to camp Winnamocka is scheduled for Wednesday April 20th.

**Interim Tests and State Testing: 3rd graders will be taking the ACT ASPIRE state test in the spring. We will inform you of the exact testing dates closer to that time. To prepare for the test, students will take the NWEA assessments (see linked information) throughout the year. This test monitors student’s progress and prepares them the ACT Aspire (see linked information)
