About Me

Educational History:

I graduated from Glenwood High School in Glenwood, AR with top honors in 1989.  After waiting 18 years before going to college,I received my Associate of Arts degree from National Park Community College.  I transferred to  Henderson State University where I received my Bachelor of Science Education in 7-12 Social Sciences in May 2012.  I earned my Masters Degree in Special Education as a 4-12 Instructional Specialist with an emphasis in Autism.

Current Position:

I am currently beginning my 3rd year at Ouachita.  I teach Resource English, Resource Reading, Portfolio Math, Portfolio Science and Life Skills.

Previous Position:

My first teaching job was at Millcreek in Fordyce, AR.  It was a residential facility where I taught all subjects to both general education and special education students in grades 4-7.  I left the post in order to move closer.  I was driving 4 hours Monday-Friday!

Family Information:

I have been married for 26 years!  I have four children: Jarreth, Molly, Maddy, and Harlie.  Their spouses: Shelbi, Brady, Heath, and Trevor.  I also have 3 grandchildren: Camryn, Khloee, and Zane and in December we will welcome Rowen Grace!  My family is my heart!!  I also have a little Yorkie named Timbo.

Personal Information:

My hobbies include reading, watching Razorback football, and spending time with my family.  I love playing with my grandchildren!  Since our children have left home, we have begun to travel and find it very enjoyable.  When not teaching I read, play with my babies, watch stupid movies on t.v. and go to church.
